Post Turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a Texas Rancher whose hand had been caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually, the topic got around to Obama and his bid for the presidency.

The old rancher said, Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked, 'What is a post turtle'?

The old rancher said, When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he sure as heck doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there and you just wonder what kind of an idiot put him there in the first place.'

Barack Obama does not think too highly of Black America

Whether liberal puppet-masters in his campaign are prompting this or Obama, himself, lacks areal connection with the Black American struggle, one thing is clear: BarackObama and his party do not want us to leave the oppressive plantation mindsetthat has exploited the Black vote for years.

Only 5 Bikes?

Only 5 bikes? on TwitPicOK - we went to Callaway Gardens today to see the hot air balloons. The day was actually really nice - weather was great, there was a slight breeze and the kids had a great time... Well, all except Haydn. I could tell he wasn't feeling well and wound up sitting in someone's lap for the entire day. On the way home, we got behind the truck pictured here. I could tell it had at least 3 bikes on it. But, when they turned left, we counted 5 bikes!!!

HEY! HEY! THEY’RE THE LOVE WILLOWS!

Hey! (Decca), the the unabashedly upbeat debut album from The Love Willows due for release October 28th.

No Blood Clot

I have good news - I had to go to the doctor last week because of a place on my leg that was very tender, red and had fever. They thought it could be phlebitis, but as it turns out today they did an ultrasound on my leg and there is no sign of a blood clot. WOO HOO!!!! Thank goodness. Now I can concentrate on getting back to the task of having the lap band surgery done. It is going to be tough I know - I have a new friend through one of my wife's message boards who just had the surgery. She is going through some extreme pain and that part is what scares me. I don't handle pain very well. But this is something that I HAVE to do - there is no question. Just a couple more small hurdles - nutrition evaluation and acceptance by insurance...

Arnel Pineda

If you were to ever ask me who my favorite bands are I can name 2 that I can honestly say if I were stuck on a desert island and could have music only by these groups and never get weary of listening to them, I would say Dream Theater and Journey. Journey just acquired a new lead singer, and let me tell you he sounds just like Steve Perry. His name is Arnel Pineda and he is from the Philippines. I have enjoyed following his "journey" so far with the band, and I do believe Niel, Ross and Jonathan are really proud that they found this guy! If you get a chance, go pick up their new album "Revolution" - it comes with new songs, classics and a DVD! I think you will be just as impressed as I am with this new project as well as how they remain authentic with the classic Journey hits.

Illusion Reviewer...

How cool would it be to get to review new magic that one of your all time favorite magicians (and no I am not trying to brown nose) is developing? I received an e-mail asking for bloggers to e-mail in if they would be willing to do this. I am like - HECK YEAH!!! I absolutely love this guy's style, and he has a sense of humor a lot like mine, so I get him. The amount of thought that goes into his routines impresses me greatly and helps me understand the passion he has for his craft. On top of being a great magician, he is freakin' hilarious!!! I can't wait to hear back and see what happens...

Obama: Equal Pay for Women... Just Not on My Dime

Sen. Barack Obama talks a good game. There's talk about hope and change, and hope and change, and even more hope and change. What exactly is he hoping to change? No one really knows, but one thing is clear: the more we get to know him, the more we realize that his actions are quite different than his "hope and change" rhetoric.

Theodore Roosevelt, 1907

Celebracadabra - disappointing ending...

I finally got to get up to date on TiVo on som of the show I had missed. I was really disappointed that Hal Sparks did not win Celebracadabra on VH1 - I'm sorry but C. Thomas Howell exposing those bills as flagrantly as he did was far worse than Hal tripping or the music getting screwed up (which was definitely not Hal's fault). Hal is a much better magician and seemed to me to be more appreciative of what he learned. He even had more of the look and the desire I think. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now, but I would have liked to have seen him go all the way...
