OK - we went to Callaway Gardens today to see the hot air balloons. The day was actually really nice - weather was great, there was a slight breeze and the kids had a great time... Well, all except Haydn. I could tell he wasn't feeling well and wound up sitting in someone's lap for the entire day. On the way home, we got behind the truck pictured here. I could tell it had at least 3 bikes on it. But, when they turned left, we counted 5 bikes!!!

The cake was made by Charm City Cakes, a Baltimore bakery owned by Duff Goldman that makes unique custom cakes and is featured in the Food Network reality television show Ace of Cakes. I have good news - I had to go to the doctor last week because of a place on my leg that was very tender, red and had fever. They thought it could be phlebitis, but as it turns out today they did an ultrasound on my leg and there is no sign of a blood clot. WOO HOO!!!! Thank goodness. Now I can concentrate on getting back to the task of having the lap band surgery done. It is going to be tough I know - I have a new friend through one of my wife's message boards who just had the surgery. She is going through some extreme pain and that part is what scares me. I don't handle pain very well. But this is something that I HAVE to do - there is no question. Just a couple more small hurdles - nutrition evaluation and acceptance by insurance...
